as president of the St. Simons Club, Fred and his group sponsored four teams in the Ontario and Toronto League, winning many titles in the Junior and Senior Divisions. He is best known as the author of the oft-quoted poem; I'm One of the Old Lacrosse Boys. He was also Dramatic Editor for the Mail and Empire and authored two books.
