Starting his involvement in Alberta founding and coaching teams in Calgary and Edmonton, Jim has served as Alberta's representative on the CLA Board for 5 years; chaired the Men's Field Lacrosse Sector; was President of the CLA from 1998-2003 and currently holds the past president position.

In 2006 Jim was the CLA Lester B. Pearson Award recipient for his long-time commitment to lacrosse in Canada.
