He was born in Montreal in 1841 and became active in lacrosse at an early age. He formed the National Lacrosse Association and organized the first convention in Kingston, Ontario on September 26, 1867. He wrote a book entitled Lacrosse - The National Game of Canada, and also took two team to England where they played a command performance for Queen Victoria. |
